ABOUT US
Karyn Ormiston-Engel - is the principal creator and owner of L.A Musicworks, and voting member in the National Academy of Recordings Arts & Sciences (The Grammys). She is the primary L.A. Musicworks contact person for music licensing, commissioned songwriting and other information.
Karyn started out as a professional musician at an early age (playing piano and ultimately electronic keyboards and other instruments) - and has written, recorded, produced and published a wide variety of music - she has performed in everything from high school dances, to clubs, concert venues, television, music videos and large areas while on tour.
While her own original music style tends to be in the progressive rock, pop rock, fusion, R&B and alt rock genres - she has full command over musical styles and has written and performed many songs for film, TV, new media and advertising - including style/sonic replication - as well as original music in styles spanning from classical - blues - rock - techno - country - R&B - to film cues and beyond.
As a producer, she’s always been able to connect great musicians, performances and engineers - A lot of gratitude and credit goes to her fellow creative friends, musicians, co-writers and collaborators - who happen to be some of the best in the business.
WHAT’S NEW?
After some years away from the songwriting and recording business - I’ve returned with renewed energy - to finish some previous works as well as create new ones - purely for self fulfillment and artistic expression.
Technology has come so far since the early days of electronic keyboards and analog tape machines - I can only imagine what I would have been able to produce with all the amazing instruments and digital recording tools available today. I did manage to generate some great demos with limited MIDI sequencing and a 4 track tape machine though! Some of those old demos can be found on my Soundcloud channel - as well as on my You Tube channel (if videos were generated). Check them out!
